ABILITY ONE: Formerly Javits Wagner O’Day Act that provides set aside contract opportunities with the Federal Government that employ people who are blind or severely handicapped.

ADH: Adult Developmental Home
AHCCCS: Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System
ALTCS: Arizona Long Term Care System (within AHCCCS, funded by Title 19)
ANC/AFC: Attendant Care
ANCOR: American Network of Community Options and Resources
Article 9: Governs client behavior intervention system
AzEIP: Arizona Early Intervention Program
BOMA: Building Owners & Managers Association
CARF: Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities
CBE: Center Based Employment
CD: Cognitive Disability
CIMS: Cleaning Industry Management Standards
CIT: Client Intervention Training
CM: Center for Medicare & Medicaid
CMS: Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services (Federal)
CRP: Community Rehabilitation Provider
CRS: Children’s Rehabilitation Services
DCW: Direct Care Worker
DD: Developmental Disability/Developmental Delay
DDD: Division of Developmental Disabilities (a division in the Arizona Department of Economic Security)
DES: Department of Economic Security
DHS: Department of Health Services
DISA: Defense Information Services Agency – Ability One Contract
DM: Davis Monthan Air Force Base
DMAFB: Davis Monthan Air Force Base – Ability One Contract
DOL: Department of Labor (Federal)
DSP: Direct Service Professional
DTA: Day Treatment & Training-Adult
DTT: Day Treatment & Training Children
ERE: Employee Related Expense (aka Benefits)

HAI: Habilitation Individually Designed Living Arrangement

HIPAA: Health Insurance Portability and Account Act of 1996
HRC: Human Rights Committee
HSK: Housekeeping
ICF/MR: Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded
ID: Intellectual Disability
IDLA: Independent Living Arrangement (State)
IFSP: Individualized Family Service Plan
ISO: International Organization for Standardization
ISP: Individual Service Plan
JC: Job Coaching
MCAS: Marine Corp Air Station, Yuma – Ability One Contract
NISH: National Industries for the Severely Handicapped, the organization that facilitates contract activities between CRPs or NPAs like TCH and the Federal Government, often referred to as Ability One Contracts
NOA: Notice of Action
NPA/NPO: Non-Profit Agency or Organization
OSHA: Occupation Safety & Health Act
OT: Occupational Therapy
PAS: Pre-Admission Screening
PRC: Program Review Committee
PT: Physical Therapy
RBHA: Regional Behavioral Health Authority
RRB: Room & Board
RSA: Rehabilitation Services Administration, division within the Arizona Department of Economic Security
RSP: Respite
SECTION 14C: Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) (Federal). A section that provides for the payment of special minimum wages to workers with disabilities.
SNF: Skilled Nursing Facility (archaic term)
SSDI: Social Security Disability Insurance
ST: Speech Therapy
TBI: Traumatic Brain Injury
TCLF: The Cutty Legacy Foundation
Title XIX: Grant to states for medical assistance programs, i.e. Medicaid
Title XIX: Grant to states for medical assistance programs, i.e. Medicaid
Title XX: Block Grants to states for social services
UIR: Unusual Incident Report
VR: Vocational Rehabilitation
WAT: Work Adjustment Training
